Oriental Kitchen
About This Spot
Stepping into Oriental Kitchen in Black River Falls feels like finding a familiar nook tucked away from the rush, where the hum of conversation blends with the steady clink of chopsticks and the warming aromas of sauces and spices. It’s the kind of place where the pace slows just enough to savor each bite, yet retains the lively rhythm of a well-loved local spot. The unassuming exterior might keep some away, but those who venture inside discover a steady heartbeat of genuine care behind the buffet counters and kitchen doors.
The atmosphere leans into the comforting simplicity of an old-school Chinese restaurant, where the focus rests on the essentials: good food, steady service, and a welcoming space for everyone from families to travelers passing through. There’s a quiet assurance here—dishes come out hot and fresh, buffet trays are replenished thoughtfully, and the salad bar alongside crab legs offers a little something for varied tastes without fuss. The steady presence of familiar favorites like wonton soup and hand-pulled noodles encourage returning visits, while the occasional regional twist invites curious palates to explore more.
Guests often linger not just for the flavors but for the ease of the experience. Whether it's the warm glow from inside or the practical friendliness of the staff, Oriental Kitchen exudes a straightforward hospitality that’s easy to appreciate. It’s a place that serves up more than just a meal—there’s a quiet, unpolished charm that makes it feel like a small discovery on the map of everyday dining.

Just love the authenticity of some of the dishes. Their lomein is off the charts!! And absolutely one of the dishes I always get. Their jalapeño chicken is my main entrée that makes me love this place and reminds me to come back everytime. Typical Chinese atmosphere but with the taste you're craving.

This place has amazing authentic Chinese food I think the food is very good although my Dad would like more beef options but otherwise Dont sleep on this place very very good

As a truck driver I sample quite a few different places. This was definitely one of the best Chinese buffets I've been to in the northern Midwest. The kitchen seems to be very experienced as buffet items didn't run out for more than a few minutes yet were never overfilled with food that wasn't going anywhere. It was pretty much the standard Chinese buffet items; sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, fried rice, pot stickers, chicken on a stick among other items. However, the Chinese mustard is the travel style packets of what must be the weakest strength/flavor. The beverage service seemed a bit lax also. Overall I'd recommend this location. The few negatives are far outdone by the positives.

We are regulars at Oriental Kitchen. We usually order and carry out, so everything is made hot and it's fresh! Our favorite's are jalapeno chicken, friend dumplings, and chicken on a stick!! The only downside: the restaurant needs a good cleaning! If you can overlook that, definitely go. The food is worth it!

Yum! The outside of this restaurant is deceiving, it might not look great on the outside but inside it is much better. The food was hot and fresh, they kept everything well stocked, the service was prompt, and the restaurant itself was very clean. A couple dishes I didn’t care for but that is just personal taste. And I have a kid who is a picky eater and there wasn’t a lot that she was willing to eat there. Overall it was a good experience.

We were on our way back from Wisconsin Dells, and stopped into the Oriental Kitchen for dinner. What a treat! One of the best Chinese buffets I have had in a long time. The food was fresh, yummy, and the service was good and fast. Plus, the restaurant was very clean. We'll definitely be back if we are in the area again.

To be honest I was expecting more options and variety with it being a buffet but it's not a big enough deal to deny them the 5 stars they deserve. The place is just a bit smaller than you might expect when you think of a buffet but that just means they're making the most of the space they are working with. The food was amazing, the place was well kept and clean, and the friendly service was top notch too. They even went above and beyond when they noticed I seemed to be waiting and checked on me, to which I responded that I was hoping for more Crab Rangoon and they got right on it for me. I will definitely be back for more at some point because of this great experience I had a couple weeks ago (meant to write review sooner but been busy). If you're one person doing the buffet, they do ask you to please use cash for orders under $20, like the buffet, presumably because of merchant fees and I don't blame them there.
